Waikato Permaculture Collective

Permaculture is a set of design principles centered on observing and mimicking natural ecosystems. These design principles can be used across many different fields — from agriculture and gardening, to urban planning, transport, community building.

The Waikato Permaculture Collective are a group of permaculture facilitators, designers and practitioners who are passionate about bringing people together to create change in our communities.

We are dedicated to fostering permaculture philosophy and design and run workshops and community events. Our aim is to build the permaculture community in Kirikiriroa-Hamilton and to sustain a thriving network of projects and events. Our work is organised around the three ethics of permaculture:

Earth Care
For all life systems to continue and multiply – encompassing care of the soil and care of all living systems.

People Care
For people to live as fully functioning human beings and to access the resources necessary for our existence.

Fair Share
For redistributing surplus, to further our care for one another and the earth.

If you are interested in joining the Waikato Permaculture Collective, all levels of knowledge and skills are welcome, please join our Facebook group and we will make sure you are kept up to date with our activities and invitations.
