Bike Hub

Learn to fix your bike, for free!  As we transition to a carbon-zero city, it’s important that alternative transport methods like cycling are accessible to as many people as possible.  Our Bike Hub is open 10-12pm every Thursday to Saturday.  You’ll find it in our carpark, accessed from Kent Street in Frankton.

Our Bike Hub mechanic and volunteers can teach you basic repairs and maintenance for your push bike, with one-on-one guidance, the tools and some parts to help get you back in the separated cycleway.

Once you’ve got your bike and it’s a well-oiled machine, you need the confidence to ride it anywhere and everywhere.  Our friends at HMS Trust (Settlement Centre, Boundary Road, Kirikiriroa) offer Adult Cycle Safety Training – we recommend getting in touch with them to find out when their next sessions are.  Contact mayaz@hmstrust.org.nz or call 07 853 2192.

When space allows we accept donations of bikes and parts which we reuse, rehome or sell to fundraise.  If you’ve upgraded or have an good quality bike you’re not using please get in touch – we’ll let you know if we have space to take it! This helps us make cycling even more accessible for our community.
